Wrestling Additional

In the third grade one of my friends I looked up to a lot wrestled, and he was talking to me about wrestling. I really didn’t want to because I didn’t think I would be good because i was so small compared to everyone else. He talked me into going to a practice with him. While I was there the kid I was working with was really good, and he was telling me all about what I could achieve and that everyone good started off just like me. So I stuck with it and I either got pinned in the first period or tech falled every match for my first year. My second year I moved to Alabama because of my stepdads job. I got a little better i still lost over half my matches. Just so not make this so long I I won my first tournament at the end of my third year. I beat every kid that kicked my tail for two years. That feeling was amazing, I just wanted to have that satisfaction or making progress. Just showing that hard work payed off really made me love the sport even more. My fourth year I was wrestling jv as a 7th grader. I went on the season to be like 27-3 and my three losses were to a freshman. After that year I moved to Arlington, Tennessee again for my stepdads job. I came in without anyone knowing me. The coach and team was really accepting and helpful. I learned a ton of techniques that I’ve been doing wrong for long. Which improved my wrestling tremendously. I had a pretty good season injuries didn’t help much, but i came out with a record around 28-15. Then I got to the high school program with coach Jonathan Simpson. He has taught me so many skills and made me twice the wrestler I used to be. He really invest in time in all of us. He always is here for me and helps me with anything no matter what. I went on as a freshman to start on varsity at 106. I got third in our region losing my semi match to a junior. I placed 6th at the Stewart Schay Black Horse Tournament. Which i think I would’ never done if I wouldn’t have learned so much for Coach. I made it to state I didn’t place but I’m still proud that I made it there. That’s my wrestling story and why I love this sport
