Other Academic Information
I plan to write the SAT in March 2020. Luther College High School is an independent school that offers IB (International Baccalaureate) and Advanced Placement (AP). I moved there in grade 10 from a public school and with greater expectations on students, I noticed that my grades dropped. Now in grade 11, I have become more accustomed to the high demands and my average is coming back up again. Going to Luther has been very beneficial in the sense that Luther students go into university better prepared for the workload. At least 96% of Luther graduates go on to post-secondary education, including institutions such as the University of Toronto, Dartmouth, John Hopkins, McGill, Harvard, Oxford, Yale, and Queen’s.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I am excited for the opportunity to go to the college in the United States doing the sport I love. I know eight team mates from Regina Diving Club who have received diving scholarships to the States and they have highly recommended that I pursue this excellent opportunity. My coaches have also told me that I have the skill level needed to succeed as a diver in college. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I have been a leader among my peers by knowing my values, doing what is right and not giving in to peer pressure.
I give encouragement to my fellow divers when they are scared or not motivated. I also cheer on my team mates at diving meets.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I always put in my best effort and prepare for meets. I have a positive attitude. I don't get discouraged when I don't do very well. I learn from my mistakes. Punctuality is important to me.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I have volunteered at a fundraising supper serving tables. I have collected food for the food bank and at the food bank sorting food. I also volunteered at a non-profit organization with janitorial work one weekend. I have helped at my school run an invitational volley ball tournament.
