Personal Highlights

Swimming at the Far Westerns in Moraga, California was a highlight for me. Swimming outside, spending time and traveling with my team mates and pushing myself harder than ever was one of the best experiences I've ever had. Finishing in the top swimmers for 1500 and 800m was very special and helped me believe that in the future I could be a top contender.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I am highly competitive, active and enjoy the company of like minded individuals. The possibility of studying and swimming in a team environment really excites me and is a situation I think I would thrive in.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I feel a strong sense of doing the right thing and I lead by example whether it be at the pool and getting on with dryland, setting up lane ropes or getting equipment. I don't wait for others, I show initiative and get to work.
Outside of the pool I am a leader in the classroom as well. I ask questions and get on with the work or activities set. I am not persuaded by others and am happy to lead the way.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I make sure that I eat well, get enough sleep, am organized so that I don't get stressed and am aware of what I am putting in to my body.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I give back coaching others in swimming. I really enjoy working with young kids. It makes me feel useful and valued. I also volunteer preparing and serving the homeless when time permits. This makes me feel like I am giving back to others and I feel fortunate that I can do that.
