Most Improved - 2019
I am an extremely dedicated individual. Both in my studies and in my extracurricular activities - including varsity diving and the chemistry club. Also I can usually be seen walking around with my camera bag hanging off my shoulder – looking for the next opportunity to capture a moment. I am looking forward to being accepted to a wonderful college or university (TBD) and embarking on the next phase of my life as I study photography and graphic design. Besides having a well-respected academic offering – having an opportunity to earn a spot on a dive team is on my wish list. Having been a part of a swim and/or dive team since the age of 9 and working at our town pool as a snack bar attendant and lifeguard since 14 – I guess you could say my life revolves around the pool. I switched from varsity swimming to varsity diving in August 2018. My team needed more divers and I accepted the challenge! It was not without its smacks and fails - but I love it! Besides diving with my school, I also dive year-round with my club – Full Out Dive Club. A mix of hard work, dedication, courage and my coach's expertise helped me push past the next ‘hurdle.’ There is nothing like getting to ‘ring the bell’ after finally nailing a new dive! I am determined to continue my development during my collegiate career.
I have volunteers to help an area hospital with the annual 5K Turkey Trot. It gave me joy and I worked extra shifts during the preparation phase. I have also worked at my town pool for the past 3 years and the last two as a lifeguard - which gave me comfort in front of people and gave me a sense of fulfillment knowing I was helping to keep my community safe.
