Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I love the camaraderie and bonding that happens when a group of people work hard together for a common goal. I can contribute power and intensity, and am very team oriented. I am more organized and focused when I am rowing at a high level, and I like pushing myself physically to excel. I can also motivate others to achieve their best. I am also very good with tools and can rig and de-rig shells, load for regattas and troubleshoot any issues.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I was a patrol leader fro my BSA troop. I taught the younger scouts many of the skills they need to do wilderness overnights. I also was asked to hold camping and survival skills workshops for a local Girl Scout Troop for several years.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I work out at a local gym every M, W, F with a trainer on strength and conditioning, and T, Th, with another trainer on the erg for stamina and speed. I practice on the water with my club team 6 afternoons a week, 2 hours a day, and am working to eat a more balanced diet.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

BSA Life Scout, Order of the Arrow, Eagle Candidate. My Eagle project is the repopulation of bluebirds in a local park. I am building and installing 10 nesting boxes, 1-2 viewing benches and 10 weatherproof, full color informational signs in a "story walk" around the park.
Member of my church youth group.

Volunteer for local Learn to Row overnight camp.
I have been given a lot of opportunities in my life, and enjoy using my talents to help others.
