Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

To be recruited to play golf in college would be an incredible opportunity because I am in love with this sport. Moving on to the college level is all I have wanted since going into high school and now I have the chance to make it happen.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

During golf season, I show leadership through my team by always taking each drill seriously and being a helping hand. Showing compassion and empathy towards my teammates is what helps me connect so well, and I was even lucky enough to be awarded my sophomore year. Off the course, I continually bring acts of leadership into my home. Being the oldest with two younger brothers is not an easy task; however, everyday I try to teach them good morals and let them know that they have me to rely on.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue “healthy athletic performance” by prioritizing my school work, social life, and of course, golf practice. Challenging myself in academics has always been important to me, as I am taking honors and AP classes. Though this may seem difficult, balancing golf and my studies is never an issue. Likewise, working out often helps me stay active and get stronger in my game.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Giving back to the homeless is one of the many ways I enjoy giving back to my community. In the city of Sacramento, the amount of homeless people is devastating and it is my obligation to give a helping hand. Sacramento’s Food Bank and Family Services is an extremely effective program because of our great community. I have volunteered here numerous times with my school and seeing the look on people’s faces when I simply hand them a shirt never fails to make me smile.
