Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
-
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

From the moment in which I started rowing, I have been told by all of my coaches that stretching before and after practice, eating well and getting a good amount of sleep were crucial to succeed in this sport. I stretch regularly and take ice baths after really hard workouts for accelerating muscle recovery. Before a hard test week, I also make sure I'm getting at least 8-9 hours of sleep and fueling my body properly.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I volunteer at a variety of different associations such as the red cross, senior residencies, tutoring... I absolutely love seeing the smiles on peoples faces after doing something as simple as giving them a postcard. I'm a big believer in thinking that in life you get what you give, and it takes such little effort to give these people something to look forward to and something to be thankful for.
In addition to that, since I was a little kid I have been really interested in a career in the medical field, the reasons for this are both that I get to help people in a real meaningful way and also study something that I am incredibly passionate about. I think that volunteering at the red cross and helping out my community around me is the closest I can get to a doctor-like experience.
