Personal Highlights

I have wanted to play football in college, and even at the next level ever since I started playing tackle football in 3rd grade. I have always been a big kid so early on the only position I could play was on the line. Now there is no other place I'd rather be. There might be more glory in other positions, but I know the importance of my role on a team. In addition to being big in size, I have also developed quick feet due to playing basketball from an early age. I am a good candidate for any team because I have learned to have a strong work ethic by working on my family farm. I greatly value the Midwestern upbringing I have had, the character I have developed from growing up on a farm in a rural community, and the lessons it has taught me. I am coachable, a good leader on and off the field, and will always give 110%.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I want to be recruited to play football in college because it has always been a dream of mine. I would love to get a scholarship to help pay for the cost, and my long term goal is to continue playing beyond college.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On the field I strive to be a positive leader by encouraging others when they get down. Off the field I demonstrate leadership by inviting others to weightlifting and conditioning sessions in the off season.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue healthy athletic performance by trying to find balance between the mental and physical aspects of athletics and by focusing on good nutrition and sleeping habits. I also make sure my grades are a priority.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I volunteer to coach youth teams for our town youth basketball program. This is important to me because I get to be a part of helping kids develop their skills and it reminds me of the joy and energy kids have for sports.
