Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I ran my first 5k at age 10. I came in 3rd behind two seasoned runners, and a passion emerged. I could not get enough of running. I have always been one of the top runners at my school and in my district, but I know in my heart I have so much more potential that has not been tapped. I want to keep running competitively while pursuing my degree. I want to be surrounded by other athletes who are just as passionate as myself, and under the tutelage of a coach that can bring the best out of me.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
-
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
-
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am a volunteer coach for my neighborhood recreational swim team. Every summer I spend several hours everyday motivating the younger swimmers and helping them perfect their swimming techniques. I'm also involved with the Boy Scouts of America and am currently a Life Scout. I have participated in many service projects through scouts, as well as helped with several eagle scout projects.
