I have been a competitive swimmer for eight years but also joined the crew team my junior year and LOVED it! I bring my strength and good work ethic to the team. I had a chance to participate in a few regattas last spring before Covid and have and erg machine at home to help stay in shape as well as swimming.
Sports have always been a huge part of my life. I've been a competitive swimmer for the last seven years, on a club and school team, and this past year I started crew. I usually practice six times a week and when I don't have practice or it got cancelled, I feel the need to do my own workout. Since this has been my life for so long, it's hard to imagine not playing a sport for the next four years.
In crew, I try to set a good example for the younger rowers, and help my coaches and teammates whenever they need me. Off the field, so to speak, I have been involved in student government for the past three years, and this year I am the high school student council treasurer.
As a student-athlete, both my sport and grades are very important to me. I do my best to find a good balance between them, giving it my all during practice and during classes and homework. I also try to stick to a schedule so I go to bed at a good time and am well rested for the next day's activities.
Over the past few years, I have volunteered for various organizations, like a summer camp, a swim meet, and right now I'm volunteering in my church's senior ministry. I have a lot of fun volunteering and am happy to help make a positive impact on the lives of others.
