Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I love being part of a team and working as hard as I can to achieve goals, then sharing in our experiences. The discipline of sports matches my approach to school and wellness and I am excited to continue in college.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Pursuing equity and supporting others are my passions. I have done 3 years of Best Buddies, partnering with classmates with developmental disabilities to promote fun and friendship. I have babysat for a child with physical and developmental delays for 5 years. On weekends, I work with my father to support Milwaukee's currently homeless community by providing safe spaces, food, resources and connections for those most marginalized.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

With a father who is a Professor in an Exercise Science Program /Physical Therapy Department, I have been taught from an early age to balance wellness and performance, focusing on my long-term health and enjoyment of the process of athletics and competition rather than solely focusing on outcome. I give maximum effort every minute I train and compete, but leave time for relaxation, rest, and fun with friends and family and use healthy eating habits that do not involve diets, calorie counting, or other to fuel me.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.
