Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Whether I run track in college or not, I am going to obtain a higher education. That is the culture of my family. I have been blessed with this ability and I believe God will allow it to cover my college expenses. I also feel like it is part of my destiny.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I take my status as a youth leader very seriously. I think the area where I most exemplify leadership is by serving as a Teen Mentor to younger students. On a weekly basis I interact with three younger girls. I listen to what is going on in their lives and I try to provide the best input possible. And I live my life as an example of what they can achieve with hard work and perseverance. I also attempt to make wise choices and decisions in my own life because I know they look up to me.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Being healthy includes your mind, body and soul. I work hard in my classes to ensure that I learn as much as possible so that I will be intellectually enriched. I am careful about what I eat and drink so that my physical temple is always at its best and I can perform at an optimal level. Above all, I purposely set aside quiet time so that I can meditate and hear from God.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

My father was a pastor and my mom runs a non-profit for at risk youth. I have spent my entire life serving others. In addition to being a "Big Sister", Teen Mentor and Reading Tutor, I serve as a Youth Ambassador to our Parish Commission Community Advisory Board.
