Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I would love to be recruited to swim at college because I enjoy being on a team. Swimming at practices and meets with a close team where you can compete against each other while still cheering the team on has been an important part of my high school swimming that I wish to continue in college. A very special moment was when I was a part of the winning relay team at sectionals.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

My teammates voted for me to be co-captain my junior year. Through this position, I was able to become close to the underclassmen and lead the team in cheers and at meets. Also as a returning coach at a summer swimming club, I am in charge of assigning other coaches to swimmers and creating the line up for meets.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

A few weeks into my junior year, I had to take a break from swimming due to a shoulder injury. It was hard to not participate in the varsity season, but I decided to take that time to work on healing and strengthening my shoulders. While I was not able to support my team in the pool, I attended every meet and continued to lead the team in stretching and cheering.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.
