I have a strong passion for swim ever since I was little! I would love to continue this throughout college. Swim doesn't only just help me as an athlete but as a student as well. Waking up for morning practices and seeing my team makes me not only motivated for swim but school and other activities as well. We all have our bad days but being able to swim in college and improve is one of the best feelings.
Away from the pool I am a PE leader at my school for freshman. We help with PE classes and help teachers lead them. I am also part of the National English Honors Society and we help with understanding and promoting english. In the pool a group of my teammates and I help lead cheers, sets, and meets!
I focus on my schoolwork and am able to balance this with sports and other extra curriculars. I believe that eating healthy, working out away from the pool, and getting lots of sleep helps a lot! Also just having a positive attitude, I've seen a lot of my friends lose love for their sport because they let negative games or meets takeover. You need to know your limits and what's best for you.
I help volunteer at my local animal shelter and package food at Feed My Starving Children whenever I can. Giving back is something that feel so great in the end. I also coach, lifeguard, and give swim lessons to younger kids. Even if they don’t want to compete in the future it’s still a great skill to have!
