2015 Snik 3D Award
I have been a competitive swimmer for Club Wolverine since the age of five. Over the years, I have done other sports like triathlon and competed at three national championships in West Chester, Ohio. During intermediate and middle school, I have been involved in cross country and track and field. Just recently, I started golfing for my high school and qualified to play for varsity.
Playing sports in college would give me the opportunity to learn and develop additional physical, mental, and social skills. Advancing my time management capabilities would allow me to grow, not only as an athlete, but as a student as well.
As I enter the pool, I try to make the environment more positive by supporting my team. When away, I participate in many curricular activities that require a large amount of teamwork. Often times, I demonstrate leadership by cultivating conversations when working in a group with my peers.
By being a student-athlete, I make sure to dedicate enough time for recovery, while also staying on top of my academics. Wether it's before, during, or after an exercise, I properly fuel my body with the recommended nutrients.
I make sure I donate to food and clothes drives through the school and my church. Volunteering in my community lets me positively impact society and acquire life skills to provide service for those who truly need it.
