I have been homeschooled since first grade. Nearly all of my high school classes have been taken outside of my home and were taught in co-op classroom settings by teachers who either have a degree in the subjects they teach and/or are qualified in some other way. I have also started taking dual-enrollment classes from my local community college. I am a straight A student, and I will have an advanced diploma at the time of graduation. I work hard to hold myself to a higher standard, both with my schoolwork and on the water.

Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I started rowing in 6th grade, so it is difficult for me to imagine life without it at this point. At first, I thought that I would have to leave that part of my life behind when I went to college. Now that I know differently, I am working to earn a place on a college team. For me, this would be a place to make lasting friendships, a place to play a sport that I know I can excel, and a place where I can have new and amazing experiences.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
