Softball Honors

I lettered as an 8th grader for varsity softball. I finished my 8th grade year as a varsity player batting .478 with 27 RBIs. I have received 3 MVP awards for tournament play in club ball. I haven't played school ball since my 8th grade year because of Covid. I am honored to say I have 3 career grand slams.

Softball Additional

I love to play ball and be a good example for my little sister Amariah. She is such a great softball player with a game IQ that is very high.

Personal Highlights

When I was 12 years old, we made it to the championship game in little league. I had 2 HRs in that game. In my 8th grade year I pitched JV and played varsity. I lettered in Varsity softball my 8th grade year. I had 2 games pitching in JV as an 8th grader totaling 18K's in one game and 19K's in another. In my first Varsity game I went 3-4 with 4RBI's to help lead us past a Class B school. In travel Ball 2019 I hit my first grand slam with 15 HRs on the season, we also won 2 tournaments that year. At the tournament in the hills, I had to come in and relief pitch in the championship game. I had already thrown 6 innings that day, I closed the game out with 7K's and we won 7-4. 2020 was shortened by Covid. In our first tourney I hit 2 HRs one of which was a grand slam. Later in the season I added my 3rd Grand slam of my career. I also moved to 18u towards the end of the season. I traveled to New England's finest with the 18U Monsters, I played in the 2020 class of (23 vs 22) All Star Game. I injured my ankle in the first game on Saturday, but we taped it up and I pitched a 5-0 shutout against a NJ team called the bombers with 9K's. I am a 4.0 student and 2nd in my class. I am also active in the school play. I have lettered in Varsity Field hockey, Varsity Volleyball and Varsity Softball.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I love competition, Softball has been my love ever since I stepped on the field at the age of 11. I joined a travel club the very next year with the Baldwinsville Swarm. I currently play for The CNY Monsters. Playing softball brings out the fight in you, it also is a release from the day to day grind. I enjoy meeting new friends on the diamond as well.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I am the oldest sibling in our household now that my older sister is married, I try to set the example for my two younger sisters. I do this with my work ethic and leading by example. I help tutor several of my school mates. On the field I chased a fly ball through the fence and dinged myself up, the very next inning I came back to hit my first career grand slam. We came back and won that game. I always try to keep the spirit up in the dugout and compete no matter the score.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

You have to balance everything in life. For me it gets hectic with advanced courses in school and the time I dedicate to all three sports I play(Field Hockey, Volley Ball and Softball). My parents have supported me the whole way. My parents have given me every opportunity to succeed.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I help with the schools programs like the winter festival. I have helped with softball clinics for our younger squads. Our NJHS made cards for our local nursing home patients. Activities have been limited because of Covid.
