My dedication, respect, and, appreciation for my primary sport has continually grown and deepened since I was a young girl. I am a coachable athlete that would love the opportunity to use my talents to assist a track team in reaching their goals.
While coaching youth throwers, it was important to impress a joy for the sport to provide a basis for healthy, safe, positive competition. I felt that providing encouragement and guidance was essential in aiding with their confidence that could carryover to other aspects in their life. That was an opportunity to pay it forward like others had done for me with a sport that I have loved and excelled in since the age of seven. It was an honor that coaches and parents entrusted me to help mold, shepherd, and teach their youth.
Long term goals require patience, hard work and dedication along with other attributes. Growing up, athletics was a family affair. I used to compete as a multi- track athlete (200/400/800/hurdle running events, long & high jump, javelin, shot & disc) and soccer. Learning some basic building blocks as a young athlete like eating healthy, sufficient rest, and training was really important for me to thrive in activities I enjoyed and it became a way of life. The comradery and support of teammates and opponents has made this journey even more enjoyable. Continuously finding a balance mentally, physically and spiritually to meet each level of challenge throughout the years has helped me pursue healthy athletic performance as a student-athlete.
Volunteer: youth track coach, church youth coordinator, children's hospital compassion organizer, caregiver, park restoration. It is gratifying to provide support in various ways for causes that benefit others throughout the community. It's especially enjoyable to help mentor youth.
