Personal Highlights

I am diver and tackle football player. I am described often as coachable, positive and hard working. In the summer months, I work full time as a groundskeeper for a local private campground. I am fluent in both English and French. At school, I have achieved Honour Roll status in French Immersion. I play the tenor saxophone. I enjoy being outside, boating and water sports, spending time with my family and friends and am always looking for a new adventure!

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Being able to continue my education with a focus on sport has always been my goal because I love being an athlete and being active. When I started looking into post-secondary paths, I found this opportunity would able me to be part of a team, active and succeed in my studies.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

My diving teammates often describe me as encouraging and positive. I've also learned from being on a football team, I've learned how to lead on and off the field and I've transferred that to my diving training. I've learned to be vocal and encouraging when my teammates need it and I'm most proud of my ability to contribute to the team's culture in a positive way and that my teammates consider me to be a good friend and will confide in me to help them through challenges.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I have always played multiple sports and have found cross training and helped me to excel in all sports I play. I attend a local gym and work on weight training on a regular basis. For me, a healthy athletic performance means being well rounded, a positive teammate and being able to manage all aspects of my life - academic, athletic and social.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am a member of my local church community and have volunteered to help with youth programming in the past. I have also recently gotten involved in our local community fridge programs which provide free food for those in our community who are less fortunate.
