Personal Highlights

I absolutely love to run. As a freshman, I became a Varsity runner for Cross Country and Outdoor Track and Field. I have played tennis my whole life until I gave Cross Country a try and now I find myself running every single day. Running has become one of the most important activities in my life and I have a passion for it.

I am seeking to pursue a degree in architecture while expanding my growth as a long-distance runner. I am looking for a school that can challenge me academically and athletically while helping to develop me as an informed and engaged individual and world citizen.

I am a Third Culture Kid and a child of a US diplomatic family. I am being raised in a multi-national and bilingual home where my parents come from two different countries and cultures. As an individual that thrives on resilience, hard work and determination, I am confident in my ability to transition to the collegiate level both academically and athletically. I also have great attributes that will make me a valuable asset and contributor to your team and the school: I am a team player, I respect and appreciate my coaches, I have a strong work ethic, a desire to learn and improve, and years of experience in multi-cultural organizations.

I have been privileged with the first-hand travels and experiences many people only see in a book. At my young age, I have moved several times and attended ten different schools around the world. Additionally, my experience with continuously moving, switching schools and building new friendships has well prepared me for the transition to higher education.

I believe in kindness and respect. I am a strong individual who rises and delivers under pressure and I easily adapt to new challenges and transitions. I have managed to succeed academically by holding a 4.0 GPA. I love and support my friends, teammates and coaches. I come from a strong and united family who have given me the tools to believe in myself, succeed in life and accomplish my goals. IG @matthewrunstheworld
