Personal
I first began to row in 7th grade at a Learn to Row Program through the Foundry. I thought the sport was so unique so I joined the CFJ middle school team in 2019. I missed out on a lot of memories and strokes in 2020 once covid came around but I continued to row on the erg at home! I started back up on the High School team in 2021 during the Fall season. I rowed mainly Novice 8+ and 4+ and placed in 2/4 of my regattas. I continued to row throughout the winter and into the Spring 2022 season. During the Spring I rowed mainly 2x, 4+, and 4x. My WU174x placed 4th overall at Midwest Champs 2022 which qualified us to row at USRowing Youth Nationals in Sarasota Florida June 9-13. I'm beyond excited for this experience and opportunity for the girls and me to show all we have to offer! I have also been voted most improved by my teammates both in crew (2022) and track (2021). Additionally, this summer (2022) I will be participating in the NAVY team experience rowing camp from June 26th to 30th. I volunteer at Learn to Row programs, sometimes subbing in as cox/rower. Along with rowing I also run varsity cross country and track. My 5k PR in cross country is a 20:21 and my 1 mile PR is 6:01.
As a student-athlete, I take pride in the balance between both my athletic and academic performance. In the classroom, I have earned the Honor Roll for 3 years in a row. In photography, some of my pieces were selected to be presented at the Cleveland Institute of Art. I have also held over a 4.1 GPA in both my Freshman and Sophomore years of High School.
I would like to be recruited to play sports in college because I enjoy being involved with my school community and the team culture.
Being busy both on and off the field comes with its challenges. I do my very best to focus on academics first while still giving enough energy to rowing as well. To be efficient in both areas I make sure I'm getting as much sleep as possible, eating my full plate of proteins, carbs, and vegetables, and also keeping in check with my mental health.
Within my community and surrounding regions I participate in a number of service opportunities. I most consistently volunteer at the APL animal shelter and Feeding Souls for the homeless. These efforts are important to me because I believe in the importance of not only giving back to the community that has raised me up but also changing my community for the better. I believe in giving equal opportunities for all, no matter their condition, and I enjoy bringing a smile to others' faces.
