Personal Highlights

Can't wait to post from my first regatta, HOCR 2022!
Attended two HP camps at Stanford this year, one in January and one in July.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I love rowing, being a part of a team and having athletic goals to compete and train towards.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

As a plankholder in our rowing program, I've recruited other athletes to row with us. Hawaii has only one rowing program, and in order to compete on the the mainland, we had to grow our program. My goal is to grow our program and reach out to communities who may not have ever heard of rowing. As one of the first and longest standing members of our team, I have a leadership role in bringing people into the group, making everyone feel welcome, using my experience to help improve newer rowers while in the boat. Hawaii has a very diverse population and I'm proud that our crew reflects this!

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I come from a military family that has served for generations and service has always been a part of our family values. I serve every summer as a coach for a Waterman's Academy for kids learning how to safely kayak and enjoy sports in the water. I have also served our community and Waterman's culture here in Hawaii by volunteering at Duke's Oceanfest, a surfing competition. I acted as a safety guide for young surfers as they competed.
