Though I have had this recruitment tool for the past year I have not used it to its full potential, and going into the offseason of high school (getting ready to start club ball) of my Junior year, I figgured I would write a Long over due blog.  In missouri there are many good soccer schools, starting in Class 3 with the MCC schools (CBC, CCP, SLUH,DesMet) and the ever dangerous Rockhurst out of Kansas City.  Also in Class 1 there is the yearly favorite of Whitfield who has won the title the past 6 years if im not mistaken.
I myself play in Class 2 where the championship is well open to the entire state and is not centered in St. Louis like the other championships.  The past couple of years the favorites have been teams from stl such as (st. Dominic, Priory, and Duschene).  Since the favorites are usually in St. Louis any other team around the state is looked at as an underdog.  So attending Notre Dame (Cape Girardeau) we have worked extreamly hard over the past 6 years to earn the respect we deserve.  In 2002 we won the first state championship in soccer that Cape has ever seen i was in the 6th grade and hearing of this gave me motivation to work hard to get to the point that they had reached with hard work and dedication.
After a freshman year that included Limited eligability, do to a late transfer from my local public school to Notre Dame for its prep corses and higher accedimic acheievments.  So frehsmen year i played Jv where the team went undefeated in the area and won the Jv tourny.  The varsity team, though had a good season, ended up being upset in the district finals.
My Soph year I was the Starting Varsity keep on a team that was striving for more, and wanting to be the best team ever from the Cape area.  We started off strong and lost one game, where we were missing 2 starters in that line up.  1 being a 2 time all state first team forward, (that year and this), and the other being myself.  The team, though playing great, lost a heartbreaker to powerhouse Whitfield in overtime 2-1.... the loss was probably a good thing for our team, because it let us know that there was no team we needed to over look and that we were not unbeatable.  we ended up winning out the rest of our games on our way to the schools and area's 2nd state championship in soccer. We ended this great run setting many school records, including shutouts, goals, least goals against, and most wins.  Ultimately acheiving our goal to become the best team our area has seen, to the debate of a few 2002 grads :D. We ended our season 26-1
This year though still proud of our state championship the year befor, we came in with a chip on our shoulder and did not play our best soccer at the beginning losing the Notre Dame "soccerfest" tournement 1-0 to a cross town rival.  we used that loss and worked harder and tried to work out the bugs to try and make our own identity as a team.  Though it took a while, we finally clicked when we needed to, right befor districts.  Which showed as we marched our way to a 3rd school state championship and 2nd state championship for most of the players on our team.
I am very excited for next year, and am very confident in the returning talent to be able to have a deep run in the play offs for my senior season.
