Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

The summer after my Freshman and Sophomore year I was picked to attend the AVID summer institute in downtown Dallas. It brought student AVID leaders together for a week to be in front of thousands of teachers from different states. We talked with many teachers, superintendents, and new AVID or school teachers. They asked us many questions, and we helped them implement our AVID skills into their curriculum.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

As a student athlete I have to make many healthy choice in the foods or drinks I choose to have. I take vitamins everyday to make sure I have the vitamins I need in my body. I do not drink soda and I try to stay away from fried foods.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am involved with AVID which requires me to have completed 20 community service hours each semester every year. Also I am in National Honor Society which involves me completing 35 hours of community service before the school year is up. I think being involved with community service is a great experience for me and allows me to further become familiarized with my community and the people living here. It helps me meet new people.
