Won Dalmatian (regional) championship four time

Soccer Additional

I am a high school graduate with B grades in most of 14 subjects which I am studying.
I will be leaving school in May 2005 and I would like to continue my education in the USA. As my wish is to study management or economy I thought that it would be wonderful to study it America, the country which has the best economy in the world.
Also studying in America would allow me to continue playing soccer which I have been training since the age of 6. In Europe, students at my age have do decide whether they want to pursue an academic or sports career, as it is not possible to do both simultaneously. In America the school system is different and it is possible to obtain a degree without sacrificing the sport activities and vice verse.
I love sports and I have tried swimming, water polo, diving (I have passed the training and obtained a certificate «Diver one star») etc. I am a good skier and I ski every winter.
But above all I love soccer and it plays a very important role in my life. Through soccer I learned discipline and hard work; I made friendships and went through the pleasures of winning and disappointments of losing. It taught me respect, tolerance, trust, endurance and perseverance which I find very helpful in every day life. I have been to many places and met many people because of soccer, which all help me become a better person. I hope to continue my education not having to give up soccer.
I started playing in Croatian soccer club “Hajduk” Split (one of the two best teams in the country with long and glorious tradition) and when I was 8 I passed the first selection and became a registered soccer player of Croatian Soccer Association. I played in the A team and we won Dalmatian (regional) championship twice. This was repeated with junior and young cadet selections. I played for the regional team of Dalmatia. When I became a senior cadet I joined the soccer club “Split” and we also won the regional championship. Presently I play in junior A team of “Split” and we are currently the second on the autumn championship list.
When I started playing I often played the forward position, and as a cadet I played at the same position and also the position of a midfielder. I currently play a defender midfielder position. Being distinctly right handed I have a unique right foot kick but I can also use my left foot well. As I am 1.92 m tall I play exceptionally well with my head. I am quite fast and I have been taught the ball techniques. I have stamina and I generally run (according to Cooper test) between 3100 and 3200 m in 12 minutes.
I also love to play indoor soccer 4+1 for team “ST Club” in second division because of the speed and dynamics of the game.
