High SchoolAs a sophomore, I was the only sophomore that made it into the South Jersey Track Coaches Association(SJTCA) meet. Also, I was 1 of 2 sophomores that made it into Olympic Conference. As a junior, I made it to The New Jersey State Group meet. I finished 7th in group 3 javelin. During my Senior year, I went undefeated in all my dual meets(4-0), I am the 2008 Boys Division 2 Camden County Javelin Champion(171'4"), I am the Olympic Conference Champion(165'8"), the Bishop Eustace All-throwers meet champion(166') and I finished 4th in the South Jersey Sectionals meet with a throw of 173' 9". Placed 7th in Group 3 boys javelin with a throw of 169' 6". Made it to Meet of Champions went in 24th and came out 24th out of 42 javelin throwers. After that meet I am considered the 24th best javelin thrower in New Jersey. I had a bad day though. I only threw a 164'2". I was named to the First Team All-Conference, and I was named the Most Valuable Player of Triton High School's Boys Track and Field team of 2008. CollegeI had a personal best throw of 184' 5" in my first meet and was consistently around that distance all year. I was usually within 10 feet of that distance all season. I made it to the NJCAA Division 3 National Championship in Alfred, New York. I took first place and I am now the reigning NJCAA Division 3 National Javelin Champion, and because I placed in the top 2 places, I received All-American status. I hope to be able to repeat as National Champion this coming year and I would love to break 200 feet. |

My name is Chris Johnston. I am currently a Sophomore in Gloucester County College and I am an All-American, I'm the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) Division 3 javelin champion. I threw 171 feet into a 25 - 30 mph headwind/crosswind. I want to continue to throw javelin after my 2 years at Gloucester County. I would like a scholarship somewhere to continue throwing javelin.
