Personal
Throughout my life I have been extensively involved in my community, in sports, and in other extracurricular activities. From middle school to high school, I joined numerous sports such as football, track, and Tae Kwon Do - a form of martial arts – in which I earned a 2nd degree black belt. As an adolescent I joined Troop 162 of Lewisville and began as a Cub Scout. I earned the highest award in the program, which is the Arrow of Light Award. By the time I reached middle school, I graduated to a higher status as an actual Boy Scout. In the Boy Scout program, I participated in many service projects that helped the community of Lewisville. Some of the projects I worked on were “Keep Lewisville Beautiful” and or yearly “Canned Food Drives”. In addition, I participated in our Popcorn Fund Drive and Thanksgiving Baskets project.
During my freshman year, I completed the requirements and earned the highest award possible for the Boy Scouts of America which is the Eagle Scout Award. I completed many requirements to be nominated for this award as well as completing the most important service project. For my service project, I constructed park benches for the City of Lewisville at its local lake, which has helped many to enjoy the Lake. I became an Eagle Scout on January of 2004.
During my sophomore year, I was inducted as a member of the National Honor Society and am still a current member. I also joined the Varsity Wrestling Team and became an important member of the team, placing 3rd in the district tournament. During my junior year, I placed 4th at the Lawton Oklahoma Tournament, 3rd at the Roosevelt Oklahoma Tournament, and 3rd at the Lamar Invitational Tournament. At the current time, I am a 3-year member of the Varsity Wrestling Team and have lettered in all 3 years. As a senior I have compiled a 102-18 record and placed 6th this year at the Texas State Wrestling Championships. In addition to sports, I was also member of the Student Council and the Asia Club. Presently, I have been inducted into the Who’s Who of High School American Students, the National Society of High School Scholars and the GPISD Great Texas Scholar Program for high school seniors. I was a frequent affiliate of my former church youth group at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, where I was also confirmed. I helped coordinate service projects working with senior citizens and other youths at the annual Easter egghunts.
After high school, I plan to attend college and major in Business Administration. Upon completing college and after several years of experience in the workforce, I plan to become an entrepreneur and establish my own business
