3 miles Time 16:14.00 brooklyn park north AA county 3 miles This was a blur. I prepared thoroughly, so I was ready. From the gun I was in all-out auto pilot, and afterwards, I surprisingly could not remember the race. But I took 4th place out of a huge field over a classic, hilly course. It was gratifying to realize the fruit of all the miles run over summer break.
5,000m Time 16:58.00 South River High School South River High School 5000m I stayed back for most of the race, moved up through 2 miles, then jetted out of the woods with a quick sprint and jumped on the leader, a good friend. I sprinted shoulder-to-shoulder with him the last 600 meters. The spectators were screaming and the pain was intense. I was able to prevail by 1 second to win the 2007 Anne Arundel County Cross Country Championship.

Personal Highlights

After being hit by a car while on foot February 23, 2004, I began running to speed my recovery. I had broken my right leg and dislocated my shoulder, so it was a real challenge, but one I accepted. With steady work, knowledgeable coaches and supportive team mates, I achieved a major high school sports goal by becoming Anne Arundel County Cross County Champion. I have a hearing loss in my left ear, but have worked hard to overcome that as well, steaily increasing my A.P. course load.
