Basketball Honors

Senior, High School year Varsity Starter. My team went to Districts, and earned All Narrows League 2nd Team.

Junior high school year Varsity starter and earned All Narrow League Honorable Mention award

Sophomore high school year Varsity starter

9th grade junior high Varsity starter, MVP, Best Offensive Player award, Best Defensive Player award

Basketball Additional

I can dribble, shoot, drive in and lay up (score) with either hand (left or right). I play excellent and aggressive defense and I naturally have a killer instinct (very competitive). My thinking: I want to always be a student of the game of basketball (love to learn). My attitude: Either you play hard or go home and always accept a challenge, even when a person or a team has better skill (you can always learn something from a game).

I've been told by my high school coaches, I have a great basketball IQ, an excellent defender, great rebounder, and a threat on scoring because I can shoot with either hand.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

First of all, I like to lead by example. Example, I have a bunch of friends that can sometimes judge a person before knowing them or about them. I finally took the risk of being excluded and stood up against my friends telling them this wrong. I just imagined, what if that person was me and how would I react? Then again, I don't care what others think of me. On the court, I definitely lead by example whether it's practice, training and/or game time, especially on the defensive side of the ball. I always believe defense win ball games.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
-
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I volunter to do extra work at my church, this keeps me mentally humble.
