David Kemp - BeRecruited's Athlete of the Week!

And today we’re pleased to announce this week’s ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

David Kemp, #15!

Here is what David had to say when he sat down to chat with us:

Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself. How long have you been playing and when did you realize you wanted to play in college?

A: I’m a senior at Indian Creek High School in Wintersville, Ohio. I play quarterback in football and center field in baseball. I’ve been playing quarterback since 5th grade when I started playing flag football. I transitioned into tackle football in the 6th grade, and realized I wanted to play in college when I was a freshman in high school.

This season, I was the starting quaterback for Indian Creek. I set the school single season yardage record with 1519 yards, single season touchdown record with 18, single game yardage record with 308 yards and single game touchdown record with 4 TDs (2 times!).

Q: Tell us about your current high school team.

A: Our team ended the season with an 8-3 record, qualifying for the state playoffs for the first time in 15 years.  Our 3 losses came to teams with a combined record of 30-1.

Q: What are you looking for in a collegiate program?

A: I am looking for a program with a winning tradition and one that I would be able to contribute to.

Q: Do you know what you want to major in? If so, what?

A: I plan on majoring in education with a goal of becoming a high school teacher and football coach.

Q: What 3 words would you use to describe yourself as a student-athlete?

A: Leader. Dedicated. Focused.

Q: Describe for us your recruiting process thus far -- what have you been doing?

A: As far as recruiting, I have been visiting some local colleges and have attended a few football games. I have been in contact with a few college coaches and am scheduling some visits.

Q: What do you like most about the BeRecruited service?

A: The thing I like about the BeRecruited service is being able to get exposure to colleges and coaches that I normally wouldn't have.
